Scholarships

 
The Mylchenko Scholarships and Sports Bursary have five categories designated in memory of past founding members.

     The Scholarship Program is designed to assist students, who are members of So-Use Credit Union, achieve their academic, professional and community leadership goals. It also intends to help build a commitment to the growth and preservation of the Ukrainian Canadian heritage within the overall Canadian fabric.
     The Program awards four (4) scholarships annually to students who are currently enrolled or have just been accepted into a full time program at an accredited post secondary institution. The categories are:
              * Degree/Certificate Scholarship – in memory of Boris Oranski –
                 provides one (1) grant annually of $1,500
              * Media/Journalism Scholarship – in memory of William Hunt
                 Hunkewich – provides one (1) grant annually of $1,500.
              * Ukrainian Studies Scholarship – in memory of Dr. William Zincheshin
                 – provides one (1) grant annually of $1,500.
              * Volunteer Scholarship – in memory of Panas Stepura – provides one
                 (1) grant annually of $1,500.

     The Michael Shipowick Sports Bursary supports the development of sports excellence of Canadian athletes of Ukrainian ancestry who are at or working towards an international level. It is designed for young promising athletes who regrettably still have no access to important and necessary financial support. It assists their progress on the international scene and encourages athletes to persevere and work towards their goals in their particular discipline without the distraction of trying to raise additional resources to finance their training and to assist athletes representing Canada in competitions around the world.
